Former Liverpool and Perth Glory midfielder Nick Rizzo is intent on winning a contract with Central Coast Mariners.
The 29-year old is currently on a short-term contract with the Mariners but hopes the Asian Champions League can help him get a permanent deal.
"It's been tough for me over the last few seasons," he said.
"It was particularly frustrating in Perth as I was in and out of the squad.
"I believe I did well enough to warrant more playing time but it didn't work out.
"Hopefully things will work out better for me in Gosford.
"My fitness is coming back and I am delighted with how things are going," he added.
