River Plate goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo has revealed he rejected two Spanish Liga offers to return to Buenos Aries after his move to Lazio collapsed last month.

Carrizo has fallen out with teammates and fans over his decision to leave River and said: "If people have a problem they should talk face-to-face, but none of my teammates have said anything.

"I don't understand the animosity. Football is strange, I chose to return to River having rejected much higher offers from Real Zaragoza and Racing Santander."
