Celtic teammates Scott McDonald and Shunsuke Nakamura will do battle in tomorrow night's World Cup qualifier between Australia and Japan in Yokohama. The pair have already joked about the match but McDonald has said that the Aussies will do everything in their power to keep the Japanese from taking the points.
"We've been talking about the game. He's offered to let us win in Melbourne (in June) if we let them win here, but he won't get it that easy I'm afraid," McDonald told goldcoast.com.au.
"He sets up a lot of goals for me at Celtic and could cause us a lot of problems if we give away stupid free kicks in and around the box."
McDonald has yet to score for the Socceroos at senior international level but knows as soon as he opens his account his confidence will grow.
"It's genuinely not on my mind. I love scoring goals and I'm due one for Australia, but I feel that in every game so it would be no different against Japan," he added.
"Once I get my first one others will follow quickly. I'm feeling more comfortable every time I play with the national team."
