Jose Mourinho is reportedly worried that Ryan Giggs could become a future rival at Manchester United.

According to The Times, the new Red Devils boss is wary that Giggs allegedly distanced himself from former managers David Moyes and Louis van Gaal during his tenure as assistant coach.

Mourinho is also believed to be concerned about Giggs' relationship with former teammate Paul Scholes who has constantly criticised United over the past few years.

These revelations have led to the Portuguese deciding not to offer the Welsh legend a job at the club which could have seen him demoted to the U21 post, rather than be on the senior coaching staff.

Long-time United star Giggs is believed to be eager to move into a management career of his own and Mourinho feels that desire could see him go after his job at Old Trafford if he remains with the famous cub.
