Roma captain Francesco Totti has been told to make a definitive decision on his international future.

FIGC director Gigi Riva said: "We will wait to evaluate matters and speak with Totti, then the coach will make a decision.

"Clearly though, we cannot have any doubts from that point onwards. There must be a clear and definite decision."

The issue was discussed in a meeting with Italy boss Roberto Donadoni and FIGC President Giancarlo Abete this week.

"We looked at the situation at the end of the season. We discussed Totti, Alessandro Nesta's farewell, the results and upcoming games including a friendly with Hungary in August."
