Fulham veteran John Arne Riise admits relegation has snuck up on him.
Riise revealed that he never honestly believed it would all come to this.
He said: "It is going to be a very, very long summer. It just never really dawned on me that we could go down. Then it hit me like a brick wall.
"I have always thought about winning titles so this is a different feeling. I never for one second believed we would go down.
"I always thought we would stay up and that is who I am. I am a believer and I believed right to the end.
"I am not blaming anybody. The players have not performed well enough and we are disappointed for the supporters and the club because this club deserves to be in the Premier League."
