Right-back battle on between Zabaleta and Sagna for Man City's derby clash

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that the duo of Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna will be fighting it out for the right-back spot for the Manchester derby this weekend.

Sagna and Zabaleta both started the clash against Sevilla in midweek, with the Frenchman starting on the left side of defence.

With regular left-back Aleksandar Kolarov now fit in time to feature against crosstown rivals Manchester United on Sunday, manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that the duo of Sagna and Zabaleta will both be considered for the Old Trafford clash.

Pellegrini said: "I tried first and foremost to improve our attacking play because we were not having chances and Kolarov is dangerous on left.

"Pablo is coming back from a long injury, he was a little bit tired and he had difficulty marking on that side.

"Sagna is good at marking and that was one way of stopping Sevilla attacking on that side. I could tell you Sevilla were very good and we were a little fortunate to win in the last minute."
