Albert Riera believes Liverpool fans will be key in their derby clash with Everton.
Riera believes the roar of the Kop can help spur the Reds onto three points against David Moyes' side.
"You can feel how special this is for the supporters," he told Liverpoolfc.tv. "When you are out on the streets and even in the supermarket people come up to you excited and talking about the game.
"I like the atmosphere of a derby. It's different to games I have played in before and we know our fans can help us win this game.
"The thing that makes this game different to other ones is the intensity of it and the atmosphere is special.
"The atmosphere against Tottenham recently at Anfield was unbelievable. We went into the game on the back of going out of the FA Cup to Reading. If this had happened in Spain everybody would be really sad and not supporting the team.
"Here it was unbelievable and I want to say thank-you to all of our supporters. That was an important win for us and all of the players will keep fighting for them."
