Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell loves the idea of heaping pressure on former club Aston Villa.
Ridgewell says survival is still the priority for Alex McLeish's side but admits chasing Martin O'Neill's Villa team, containing England aces like Ashley Young, is a massive incentive.
"It is obviously nice to be up there with Villa in the top half of the table," said Ridgewell ahead of today's game at Everton.
"It is good to look at it to finally see Blues where they should be.
"Martin O'Neill has spent a lot of money and their fans will want something back from that.
"But the gaffer has spent wisely here and we just hope we are up there at the end of the season near Villa.
"I speak to Ashley Young regularly and text him that we are not far behind them!
"Our team is going from strength to strength.
"A lot of the people who are in there are people who got relegated last time in 2008.
"We all know what it is like to get relegated and it is not nice.
"Hopefully we can keep going the way we are and get to 40 points to survive as soon as possible."
