Sam Ricketts is determined to make the most of his return at Bolton Wanderers.

Ricketts, 30, who was out of action for 10 months, is determined to make up for lost time.

Ricketts, who faces Liverpool today, said: "I was working with head coach Dan Pfaff and the likes of Dwain Chambers, Marlon Devonish, Christian Malcolm, Greg Rutherford - some big names.

"I feel stronger all round in terms of body shape. I am fitter, stronger, faster than I was before.

"I have loved looking at another sport. They are at the cutting edge of physical performance. Hopefully I can make myself a little bit quicker."
