Sunderland fullback Kieran Richardson has welcomed new signing Asamoah Gyan.
The Ghana striker has arrived from Rennes in a club record transfer.
"It's always a boost when good players come in," Richardson told safc.com.
"To be honest I haven't seen much of Asamoah apart from his goals at the World Cup but it's always good to see quality additions to the side.
"I wish him all the best - hopefully he can bring something to the team and do well for Sunderland."
