Kieran Richardson says Sunderland pal Darren Bent has to go to the World Cup this year.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, with 26, is the only Englishman to have scored more in the top flight.

Richardson said: "He [Bent] is prolific. Point him in front of goal and nine times out of ten he'll score. In the World Cup, you might need that."
