Michael Richardson has done enough to secure new deal at Newcastle United.

The Evening Chronicle says Richardson is due to sign a new deal.

The midfielder has signed from park football last year and gave up a career as an electrician to turn pro with Toon.

Richardson has established himself as a regular in Peter Beardsley's reserve-team this past season.
