Richards not about to leave Man City

Manchester City defender Micah Richards says rumours of him wanting to leave the club are completely untrue and has stated his intent to fight for his position at Eastlands.

The 21-year old has been linked with a move away from Manchester after losing his place in the starting line-up to Pablo Zabaleta but he says he is not going anywhere.

"For them to suggest that I want to leave City is absolutely ridiculous," Richards told the Manchester Evening News.

"I have three-and-a-half years left on my contract. When you look at the way this club is going, who in their right mind would want to leave?"

Richards took the time to remind people that he is still only young and has a lot of development to do before he becomes a regular first team starter.

"I am 21 and people seem to forget that I am still learning my trade. I am just enjoying the ride," he added.

"There is perhaps the impression out there that I am bit older than I am but I know I am not the finished product."
