Micah Richards is convinced Manchester City can match Chelsea's success thanks to club owner Thaksin Shinawatra.
City's England star, 20, said: "Chelsea of three or four years ago was nowhere near the team of today.
"So why can't we do the same? We have the basis of a great squad."
