Manchester City defender Micah Richards says Joe Hart deserves to be regarded as the club's outright No1.

The 20-year-old has forced his way ahead of Andreas Isaksson and Kasper Schmeichel in the Blues' pecking order. And Richards said: "In a few of the games he has played, Joe has not had much to do, and he could do hardly anything about Chelsea's goals.

"But on Sunday he showed why he is No 1. He was excellent, not only his shot-stopping but his communication to the rest of the defence as well.

"We knew Pompey would be tough opponents and a draw was a good result for us."
