Richards delighted to be part of Man City win

Manchester City defender Micah Richards was delighted with their victory at West Ham United.

Two goals from Sergio Aguero and one from David Silva gave Manuel Pellegrini's men a 3-1 win at West Ham, who replied through Ricardo Vaz Te.

And Richards admitted: "It's about time we got that away win.

"We played well. It was a bit nervy at 2-1 but we got there in the end. I don't think we deserved to concede...pressed well and had the majority of ball."

The defender confessed he did not know rivals Manchester United had dropped points at home to Southampton before City kicked off.

The champions conceded a late goal to draw 1-1 at home to Southampton and Richards added on Sky Sports: "I didn't see - the last I saw they were one up. That was a nice little boost. But Arsenal and Chelsea won so it'll be a tough season."
