Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has revealed he came close to joining AC Milan this summer.

"Before completing my transfer to Germany, [Milan coach] Carlo Ancelotti telephoned, saying that he wanted to take me to Milan," said the former Marseille star.

"But then things cooled off because [Milan] president Silvio Berlusconi thought I was a good player, but preferred to move for a forward."
