Rhodes confident Blackburn can still turn season around

Striker Jordan Rhodes is of the belief that Blackburn Rovers are capable of getting something out of their poor beginning to the Championship campaign.

The Lancashire club sits 15th on the tier two table after 22 matches but summer signing Rhodes, who has netted 11 goals since joining for £8million from Huddersfield Town, doesn't feel it is too late to turn things around.

"The season is not even half way through yet, there are going to be lots of twists and turns along the way," Scotland striker Rhodes told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"There are going to be teams who are not in it at the moment in it by the end and teams that will hope for promotion that might not even be in the top six at the moment.

"You only have to look at Reading last season. There are plenty of points up for grabs still, there are plenty of games to play and we just have to enjoy it between now and the end of the season.

"You look at Reading's form last season, where they came from nowhere to get promoted. Winning breeds a positive mentality. It is an important Christmas period coming up and going into the new year it would be nice to pick up a head of steam coming into the play-off time."
