RFEF chief Angel Maria Villar and son arrested

The head of the RFEF, Angel Maria Villar, and his son Gorka have been arrested as part of a corruption probe at the Spanish football federation's headquarters.

Three other federation executives have been arrested in Operation Soule, Juan Padron, vice-president of economic affairs, and Tenerife's regional federation president and secretary.

The five men have been arrested on charges of misappropriation of funds, improper management, corruption and falsifying documents.

Millar, 67, is a senior vice-president of UEFA and sits on FIFA's executive committee, as well as leading the RFEF for nearly 30 years.
