Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has faced revolt from his own board.
AS says an amazingly tense and confrontational board meeting was held two weeks ago as directors accused Bartomeu of carrying out their transfer plans in secret.
At times, the summit became so heated that individuals had to leave the room to calm down.
In the end, the board demanded the presence of sports director Andoni Zubizarreta to deliver a report on the club's summer transfer plans.
Directors feel Bartomeu, Zubi and Jordi Mestre, the new sports vice president, are not being open enough with their squad planning.
