REVEALED: Zidane at heart of Morata decision to quit Real Madrid for Chelsea

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has no regrets quitting Real Madrid over the summer.

Given the problems Real have had in attack this season, with injury and suspension, Morata knows he'd be currently leading the line if he had stayed.

However, Diario Gol says a conversation he had with coach Zinedine Zidane at the end of last season had made up his mind for him.

Face-to-face, Zidane informed Morata if he wished to stay he had to accept that Karim Benzema would always be regarded as ahead of him in the selection pecking order. What's more, Zidane suggested to Morata if he refused to accept the role it would be better if he found himself a new club.

Morata, since joining Chelsea, hasn't looked back and is already drawing favourable comparisons with former Blues striker Diego Costa.
