Reasons for the sudden revival of Barcelona's pursuit of Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho have been revealed.
Barca failed with an €80m offer for the Brazil international last week and are expected to return with a new €90m bid in the coming days.
It's been suggested the Catalans are moving for Coutinho as a replacement for PSG target Neymar.
However, Diario Gol says the real reason for Barca's pursuit is an effort to convince their star man to stay. It's suggested Neymar has told Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu he's willing to remain if they add another Brazilian to their ranks this summer.
Neymar has felt increasingly isolated at Barca over the past year as close friends Dani Alves and Adriano Correia have been moved on.
During talks with Bartomeu, Neymar has expressed his concerns, though has insisted he'd be willing to stay if Barca increased their Brazilian contingent, which has led to fresh attempts to prise Coutinho away from Anfield.
"Coutinho is not for sale. He's a very important player for us," declared Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp just yesterday.
