REVEALED: Where Mahrez sat and waited for Chelsea, Barcelona offers...

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez chose Paris as his base camp on deadline day, it has been revealed.

The Leicester Mercury says he was allowed to leave his Algeria camp on Thursday to apparently fly to Paris with possible offers from Chelsea and Barcelona on the cards.

It made sense for Mahrez to go to the nation of his birth, France, to set up camp in the event of a big offer.

A reliable source reported although Mahrez had flown to Paris, where he was spotted and photographed, there was no concrete bid on the table and that has continued to be the case throughout the day.

Mahrez chose Paris as the Algerian team were about to leave their training camp on a nine-hour 32-minute flight of more than 5,500 miles to Zambia for Saturday's World Cup qualifier.

If he'd boarded that flight, there would have been no chance whatsoever of a deadline deal to any European club.
