A Chelsea source told the Daily Express: "Before every game the staff and players have a huddle in the dressing room. Usually it's the boss or a coach who does the talk, but someone else can have a go.
"Bill sort of took over and started saying, 'Let's go get 'em, let's beat these blokes'. It was not exactly William Shakespeare. His voice got quicker and louder and in the end he was just roaring.
"Bill has a strong West Country accent so it's hard to understand him, especially if you're not English. Some of the foreign players did not have a clue. Samuel Eto'o's English is terrible and some of the Brazil players struggle.
"But even if you didn't understand a word of English you would have known what Bill was trying to say."
McCulloch is masseur to the Scotland team as well as at Chelsea, and has worked at the club for more than a decade.
The source added: "It's not what he said but the way he said it."
