Watford failed with a club record offer for PSG striker Goncalo Guedes on Thursday.

In their frantic search for a striker signing, Watford made a €60m offer for Guedes in the afternoon, says L'Equipe.

The proposal met PSG's valuation, but Guedes rejected the move.

Guedes, having spent last season on-loan with Valencia, hopes to return to Spain before the end of the month.

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, hasn't ruled out keeping the forward this season.
