Real Madrid could've signed Liverpool start Philippe Coutinho for a cut-price £2.2m, it has been revealed.
Coutinho is currently the subject of talks between Liverpool and Barcelona over a deal worth €150m.
And Marca reports that Real Madrid decided not to bring in Coutinho from Vasco da Gama, and instead chose another midfielder, Alipio from Rio Ave.

He made appearances for the B and the C teams at the Bernabeu, before being flogged to Portugal.
The 25-year-old is now turning out for Brazilian outfit Vila Nova.
Inter Milan then took advantage of Madrid's error by snapping up Coutinho for £2.2m, and the rest is history...
