REVEALED: Swansea ace Ayew offered to play for Liverpool for NOWT

Swansea City attacker Andre Ayew was desperate to join Liverpool before his move to the Liberty.

The Daily Mail says Ayew offered to play for Liverpool for free prior to his move to Swansea City.

The 26-year-old scored twice on Sunday to help Swansea beat Liverpool 3-1 yet the story could have been very different if Liverpool had been willing to take a chance on him last summer.

Ayew was a free agent after his contract ran down at Marseille and the boyhood Liverpool fan was so keen to play for the Anfield club he offered to play without wages until January to prove himself in a bid to convince them to sign him.

But the Reds opted to pursue other players, with Danny Ings and Divock Origi already signed and Christian Benteke joining for £32.5m.
