REVEALED: Sunderland had 3-year deal agreed with Benfica keeper Mika

Sunderland boss David Moyes missed out on a deal for Benfica goalkeeper Mika last night.

The move was so close, that Mika had agreed a two-year deal - plus the option for another year - and his agent had announced the agreement on social media.

Boavista had also been in talks and had an agreement with the player.

Mika's priority was Sunderland, but in the end time ran out for a deal to be done.

Sunderland, like Boavista, both announced last night that the deal had fallen through.
