Tottenham's asking price for Danny Rose proved too rich for PSG this month.
Spurs were willing to do business with PSG over the left-back's departure and even settled on an outline of the deal.
A 12-month loan with the option to buy was agreed between the two clubs - and Rose's camp.
However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy's asking price of €35m was regarded as too rich even for big spenders PSG.
PSG attempted to talk down Levy's valuation, but the chairman refused to budge this week.
