Ambitious New York Cosmos have made contact with Roma legend Francesco Totti.

Totti intends to play on next season, but won't be offered new terms by Roma.

Sky Italia says talks between the two parties has already reached the stage of negotiating financial terms.

Cosmos coach Giovanni Savarese is driving the deal and has spoken directly with Totti.

The veteran has also been linked with fellow NASL club Miami FC.
