Real Madrid president Florentino Perez hopes to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea in the coming weeks.Marca says Perez is seeking to do a deal for around €20 million with United, as De Gea has just over a year to run on his current contract.
United would prefer to sell for closer to €50 million, but know they are in a weak bargaining position due to De Gea's contract status.
Real have already made their opening bid for the Spaniard, but are willing to go higher to get a deal over the line.
Perez is prepared to go to €30 million for De Gea to keep their relationship with United intact.
