REVEALED: Real Madrid coach Zidane reluctant to welcome Kepa over Luca concerns

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is being accused of playing family favourites over his reluctance to welcome Kepa Arrizabalaga's signing this month.

Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa is expected to join Real in January, though Zidane has been vocal in his opposition.

It had been suggested Zidane was defending his No1 Keylor Navas, however Sport says the coach's protests actually stem from closer to home.

Zidane is worried about where Kepa's arrival would leave son Luca Zidane. The France U21 keeper is third-choice at Real this season and Kepa's arrival would see the coach's son drop down the pecking order - should Kiko Casilla choose to stay.

Zidane still has hopes of Luca establishing himself as Real's second-choice keeper in the next 12 months, but Kepa's arrival would rumble those family plans.
