REVEALED: Pep wants Atletico Madrid’s Hernandez brothers at Man City

Manchester City are being linked with a double swoop for Atletico Madrid pair Lucas and Theo Hernandez.

According to The Sun, Pep Guardiola is planning a £40million summer raid for the French siblings.

It is understood that Pep has been monitoring the defensive pair for the past six months and is now ready to go after them at the end of the season.

Centre-back Lucas Hernandez, 20, has appeared 13 times for Diego Simeone this season and is contracted at the Vicente Calderon until 2020.

Left-back Theo Hernandez, 19, is on loan at Alaves this term and has made 23 appearances including 18 La Liga starts. He is contracted until 2021 after signing a five-year deal with Atleti at the start of the season.

A City insider said: “Pep remains hot on the trail of the pair. He is a big fan of them and has been keeping an eye out.

“There was interest last summer. Pep has sent his best man to have a closer look at them.

“There is a feeling that Atletico reckon they could use this as leverage should Kun decide to leave at the end of the season."Pick existing
