Liverpool will not have a Scouser in their squad for tomorrow's derby at Everton.

Liverpool will not field a Scouser in their Merseyside derby team on Sunday for the first time since the 1986 FA Cup final.

“I saw that it was '86 the last time, wasn't it? The Cup final?" said Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

“So it's a long time and obviously over the course of the years it's something there has always been here, so it will be strange.

“It won't worry me in terms of the game. But what I have always loved about going into these games is that when you have that local player in there, I think for that one per cent they want it so much more and that will be the only disappointment.

“But these players will be ready for the game. There are enough of them who have played in it and they are looking forward to the game."
