N'Golo Kante rejected an offer from Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid to join Chelsea yesterday.

Chelsea have completed the signing of £32million Leicester midfielder Kante.

And AS says the France international was also a target for La Liga giants Real Madrid - but he instead opted to pen a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Zidane was keen to bring him in to provide competition for Casemiro in the defensive midfield role.

Kante only spent a year at Leicester, but was key to helping guide Claudio Ranieri's side to the Premier League title last season.
