Barcelona ace Leo Messi isn't taking the calls of club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, it has been revealed.
There is now less than 40 days before Messi will be free to sign a pre-contract with any foreign team as his current deal runs down.
Claims that a new agreement has been struck remain unconfirmed and Okdiario pundit Eduardo Inda says Messi has major doubts about committing to new terms.
He told El Chiringuito de Jugone: "Mr. Messi does not see clearly the situation of Catalonia in general. There are 40 days left to be free.
"Even if the father and brother signed, what counts is the player's signature."
The biggest concern for Messi is the independence push of Catalonia and what that will mean for Barca. With so much confusion over Barca's status as a member of the LaLiga, Messi is reluctant to commit.
Claims from Bartomeu that only a date for the signing ceremony needs to be set are wearing thin, with Messi appearing still no closer from putting pen to paper.
