Manchester United retain hopes of securing David de Gea to a new deal.
De Gea has less than 18 months left on his current contract and is interesting Real Madrid.
But United hope a new deal worth as much as £140,000-a-week will convince De Gea to stay. That's an improvement on the current £120,000-a-week offer that has been put in front of him, says the Mirror.
The new deal would make him the highest-paid keeper in the Premier League and could include a buyout clause.
United want to insert a buyout clause of £45m in the proposed new deal.
