REVEALED: Man Utd relieved they rejected Raiola demand for special Pogba clause

Super agent Mino Raiola wanted a parity clause in Paul Pogba's Manchester United contract, it has been revealed.

The Frenchman returned to Old Trafford from Juventus for a world record £90million in 2016. Pogba put pen to paper with the Red Devils to secure a £200,000-a-week deal.

However, less than two years on and the 24-year-old could be signing a brand new contract.

Raiola is ready to tell United that his current £200,000-a-week salary is no longer the going rate for a player of his stature.

The revelation comes after Alexis Sanchez joined the club on Monday and is reportedly earning double his new team-mates, around £400,000-a-week.

A source close to the club told The Sun: "The club were smart enough not to agree to the pay parity clause.

"Mino tried his luck when Pogba came back here to make sure he was always the highest earner at the club.

"The club held there nerve and refused the request, fearing the wage bill could get out-of-hand if others came in."
