Manchester United have been offered Lazio defender Wallace.

The 22 year-old Brazilian centre-half is represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, who was in Rome over the weekend.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio reports Mendes met with Lazio sports chief Igli Tare for dinner to discuss Wallace's situation.

The defender is open to a new deal with Lazio, but Mendes has bigger ambitions.

And he has confirmed to Tare that contact has been made with United about the prospect of taking on the 6ft 3in stopper this month.
