Manchester United U18 coach Kieran McKenna has kicked off his first game in charge with a new trialist.
McKenna has started today's clash against Middlesbrough with Idris Kanu wearing the No9 and leading his attack.
Kanu is a West Ham U18 striker and played for the U21s last season, scoring a winning penalty past Shay Given against Stoke City.
Hammers development squad coach Liam Manning said at the time: "Idris showed great character to take the penalty, especially against Shay Given, a goalkeeper who has had a terrific career. It says a lot about the lad's character that as an under 16 he took the penalty and took that responsibility."
McKenna has given the teenage striker a chance today and he has impressed in the first-half.
