Manchester United have lost almost £250 MILLION in value since Louis van Gaal took charge. United's share price spiked at £13.17 in July following Van Gaal's arrival but had plummeted to £10.56 by the time the New York Stock Exchange closed on Friday.
That means the value of the club has dropped by almost £250m to £1.7billion.
Van Gaal insisted that he cannot allow the finances of the club to dictate his football philosophy.
"I don't think that I am here to think about the financial consequences," said the Dutchman.
"I'm here to manage the professional football department and I'm here because of my qualities and my philosophy. That was spoken about in the first sessions between Ed Woodward and myself.
"After that, I also spoke with the [owners] Glazer family and because of that discussion, I am here now.
"I think they are pleased with my way of managing the club. I am not thinking of the consequences if we don't finish in fourth or third. That would be bad for the club but why do we have to speak now about things that have not happened yet?"
