REVEALED: Man Utd directors regret allowing Mourinho to splash out on Alexis

Manchester United directors regret having backed Jose Mourinho in their deal for Alexis Sanchez.

El Pais says United board members recently met with rival Premier League executives and confessed they 'regret' the signing from Arsenal.

Sanchez hasn't exactly hit the ground running at Old Trafford, and has netted only once in his seven appearances this season.

And board members gave three reasons as to why they're having second thoughts over the signing at the secret meeting.

United are said to 'regret' the signing because the Chilean would have been considerably cheaper had the club waited until the summer to sign him.

The second alleged reason is to do with Sanchez's huge wages and the third is his age - 29.
