Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was happy to offload Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
That's the claim of Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur.
“He's always been very ambitious, he's got the move he wanted for three years," Terreur told the Transfer Window podcast.
“He started to realise he had some poor parts of his game that he needed to improve.
“He felt when Jose Mourinho signed Diego Costa (in 2014) that he would still be second choice. And he couldn't live with that. He wanted to play.
“And Jose appreciated that. That they didn't lie about being ambitious.
"And that couldn't happen as a second choice."
