Manchester United failed with a winter market bid for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, it has been revealed.
Corriere dello Sport says United had a €30 million offer for the Argentine turned down by Inter. But their interest has since not waned.
Icardi could force the issue should his situation not improve at Inter.
Despite being named club captain by Roberto Mancini, the pair have fallen out this season, with Icardi spending time on the bench.
Along with United, Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on developments.
