Manchester City must overcome stiff competition from Bayern Munich for VfL Wolfsburg winger Kevin De Bruyne.

City are willing to splash out €50 million to convince Wolfsburg to sell the Belgian.

However, BILD says De Bruyne would prefer to remain in the Bundesliga and play for Pep Guardiola at Bayern if he is to leave VfL this month.

Only yesterday, De Bruyne confessed he didn't know where he'd be playing next month.

"I have no idea where I'm going to play in the upcoming season," said the former Chelsea midfielder.
