Manchester City could've have snapped up Raheem Sterling for a bargain basement £500,000 six years ago.
The Times says City were offered Sterling when he was a 14-year-old at QPR for half a million pounds.
But they opted against it, deciding the price was too high. He later moved to Liverpool for £600,000, rising to £5million.
City then had to pay almost 100 times that amount to push through a drawn-out deal with the Anfield club that could rise to £49m.
