Manchester City boss Pep Guadiola has put in a call to Raheem Sterling to lift his spirits during a disappointing Euros.
Guardiola phoned the England flop after criticism of his performances from many angry Three Lions supporters.
The Sun says Sterling's spirits have been lifted by the surprise call ahead of England's second- round clash with Iceland on Monday.
A source close to Guardiola said: “Pep knows he's having a tough time.
“He called Raheem to say, 'As long as you work for me I will fight for you. Keep your head up, you are a good player and a big part of my plans'."
