Olympique Lyon are set to land Memphis Depay after agreeing a fee with Manchester United.
Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has told L'Equipe that an agreement has been made with the Red Devils for the transfer of the Dutch winger.
"At the beginning of this afternoon I reached an agreement in principle with Manchester United, the finer details still need to be sorted out but at a more expensive base than is currently being circulated," he said.
Reports indicate that Lyon will pay an initial £16million (€18.5m), which could rise to £21.7m (€25m).
Sky Sports reports that United will insert a buy-back option in the the contract with potential add-ons relating to Lyon's qualification for the Champions League.
Depay, 22, joined United from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2015 and has played 53 times for the Red Devils, scoring seven goals.
The deal is expected to be completed on Thursday with RMC reporting Depay will arrive in Lyon to finalise it all.
