Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers had to intervene last week in the aftermath of their Europa League win over Besiktas.
Mario Balotelli's decision to take the matchwinning penalty ahead of designated taker Jordan Henderson sparked a row involving Daniel Sturridge, says the People.
Sturridge was angry about the challenge to Henderson's authority.
A source said: "Brendan did well to defuse the situation. Jordan admitted he had the final word.
"But Daniel was still unhappy the situation had arisen at all."
